What is Clamper circuit?
A clamper circuit shifts the DC level or the reference level of the signal to the desired level without changing the shape of the waveform.
The clamper circuit can be designed using the diode, resistor, and the capacitor.
Positive Clamper Circuit
If the clamper circuit shifts the entire waveform upwards (towards the positive direction) then it is called Positive Clamper Circuit.
Negative Clamper Circuit
If the clamper circuit shifts the entire waveform downwards (towards the negative direction) then it is called Negative Clamper Circuit.
Clamper circuit with the Biasing voltage
Some times the biasing voltage is also added with the clamper circuit to shift the DC level to the desired voltage level.
And accordingly, the clamper circuit can be further classified as
1) Positive Clamper circuit with Positive Biasing Voltage
2) Positive Clamper circuit with Negative Biasing Voltage
3) Negative Clamper circuit with Negative Biasing Voltage
4) Negative Clamper circuit with Positive Biasing Voltage
